Waltham Forest is proud to be one of the five host boroughs for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The appearance of our streets and the safety and efficiency of our road network will have a major impact on the success of The Games.

In Public Realm we currently have a number of career opportunities that would suit ambitious and experienced technicians who are keen to contribute to the improvement and regeneration of our borough.

We are looking for an experienced technician to assist in managing the bridges and structures inspections and maintenance programmes.

You will need a H.N.C in civil engineering (or equivalent) with the relevant experience in the inspection, assessment and maintenance of bridges, along with detailed understanding of the main design codes.

You will also have a good understanding of Health and Safety / Risk assessments together with an ability to communicate at all levels.
