Newark and Sherwood District Council is committed to providing a high quality Benefits and Revenues service to its customers. The Council is constantly looking to further improve its already impressive record of efficient and accurate processing of Benefit claims and to raise awareness of housing and council tax benefit to maximise customers’ entitlement to benefit.
Your main responsibilities will be to process all types of Benefit claims with efficient service in a professional and helpful manner. You must have relevant work experience in a Benefits environment and have an up to date understanding of the law relating to Housing and Council Tax Benefits.
You will be highly motivated, experienced in dealing with the public in a sensitive manner and able to communicate effectively. You will have the ability to prioritise workloads and meet targets, experience of working with on-line computer systems and educated to GCSE Grade C, or equivalent, in English and Mathematics.
