The Customer Services Section is responsible for front -line services within the Civic Centre interface areas and customer contact centre, developing one point of contact for all council services and continually improving systems to the benefit of both internal and external customers.

The postholder will be responsible for managing enquiries from customers relating to, in the main, Housing Benefit and Council Tax with particular emphasis on ensuring excellent customer delivery at first point of contact.

Previous experience of working in a front line customer focused environment, excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with customers confidently,politely and efficiently are essential, as is a working knowledge of either Benefits and/or Council Tax.

You will have a flexible approach and be a good team player. The ability to work consistently, often under pressure, is also essential as the main contact points are extremely busy.
