If you are a qualified teacher with a proven track record for helping pupils with behavioural, emotional or social difficulties, this temporary role represents a unique opportunity to develop your specialism and enhance your career opportunities.
Working as a member of the locality teaching team and visiting schools across Tandridge and Banstead, you’ll observe, assess and monitor pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs and provide a consultation service to schools. Working across Key Stages 1-4, no two days will be the same. Each new location throws up its own set of challenges: with assessments, observations, consultations, delivering Inset, network meetings, and one-to-one and group work with pupils. You’ll be prepared to work outside normal school hours on occasions, both for consultations and to take advantage of key training opportunities.
You must be a qualified teacher and an additional qualification in behaviour management would be to your advantage. You will need to have a sound knowledge of educational issues and the SEN Code of Practice, as well as a clean driving licence and use of a car for business purposes.
An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure and POCA check will be required for this role.
For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Karen Kelland on 01737 737 950.
Interview date: 26 November 2008.
