About the job
We want every child in the borough to have the best start in life. To that end, we’ll give you lead responsibility for vital family support services including childcare and outreach, as well as a team of talented people. With your children and families experience, you’re sure to make a difference. You’ll help the Children’s centre manager in the strategic management of Barra Hall Children’s centre. In addition, you’ll be in charge of evaluating the service locally, monitoring systems, plans and projects and looking at our partner agencies to check quality performance and compliance with service level agreements. You’ll take the lead in ensuring that our training programme is strategically planned and delivered, so it’s certainly a wide ranging role.
About the person
You should have an equivalent of a level 4 qualification or above and of course you’ll have a good knowledge and understanding of the needs of families and young children, this will be demonstrated by your minimum of 3 years of working with children and families.Beyond that, a good grasp of legislation and social policy in childcare and Early Years Education is key, as will the ability to analyse data and work collaboratively with users, colleagues and other agencies.
