Wigan Pupil Referral Service is seeking to recruit a well-qualified and experienced Teacher to work in their Key Stage 2 Pupil Support Centre. The Centre is situated on two sites to allow for locality working and each site can accommodate up to eight KS2 pupils at any one time.
You must hold a Teaching qualification and have some experience of working directly with children in mainstream and/or special education who display social/emotional/behavioural difficulties. The successful candidate will be expected to teach on both sites and work closely with a small but highly skilled staff team.
You could be required to work in a consultative/collaborative manner with mainstream staff and a range of other professionals. You will be able to demonstrate that your practice supports an inclusive ethos, and you have some knowledge and experience of strategies that can successfully engage pupils who are at risk or have been permanently excluded.
Travelling expenses between the sites will be paid.
This provides an excellent professional development opportunity and we would be willing to consider secondments, however, you must seek permission from your Headteacher before applying for the post.
