We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible person to assist in the Curriculum team’s role of programme planning and quality assessment.

You will support the Curriculum Manager in developing provision within the Modern Foreign Languages and English as a Foreign Language programme. Experience of teaching adults, a Teaching Certificate, an appropriate professional qualification in the subject area and a good knowledge of the national post-16 learning agenda are essential.

Assistant Curriculum Manages are responsible for a delegated area of learning, in which they ensure that the course programme reflects demand and the quality of teaching and learning is maintained against the agreed ACL Quality Assurance Framework.

A typical day will involve working with Centre Managers to organise a programme of courses and supporting tutors through formal observation of teaching and learning and informal class visits. Important tasks are selecting, appointing and supporting tutors to deliver the range of adult learning programmes.

You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to give effective feedback and develop supportive relationships. You must be able to use IT confidently and manage your working time flexibly and effectively. The role involves travelling to some centres in Surrey.
