Lambeth Housing Supply and Demand

Lambeth Housing Supply and Demand is responsible for all statutory services relating to homelessness and for its prevention, including housing advice, temporary accommodation, housing allocation and medical assessments. Assessment Officer

We are looking for an experienced assessment officer with a detailed knowledge of homelessness, social care and immigration legislation, a sound understanding of relevant case law and a good knowledge of private and public sector housing options.

You will be working in a busy housing environment and you must have the capacity to organise, prioritise and maintain a varied workload to meet deadlines. You must be able to contribute effectively as a team player and have good IT skills, plus the ability to communicate well and write comprehensive reports and maintain detailed case files.

The ability to interview homeless applicants in a non-judgemental manner and assess their cases fairly and competently is a key requirement, along with recommending solutions to senior officers for their approval within the Homeless Act 1996 Part VII (Homelessness Act 2002 (Amended).
