Area Intelligence Business Analyst

Employer London Borough of Havering Location Havering

When conditions are becoming more challenging for local authorities, it’s time for local government to get creative. That’s why we’re creating a unique new strategic model at the centre of our Council. Bringing together the conventionally disparate strands of Policy Partnerships and Performance under one remit, this model will be ideally placed to source information, conduct analysis, create new policies and facilitate the partnerships underlying organisational change and improved performance.

There is, in short, no better place to influence policy or develop your career.

As Area Intelligence Business Analyst, you will work closely with the Head of Policy, Performance and Partnership in the development of the Council’s Corporate Analysis Function.

Calling on a proven track record in data analysis, your first responsibility will be to undertake the data research and analysis which is essential to our future policy creation. Covering demography, economy and service analysis, this will require you to maintain relevant corporate databases, plan, design and deliver research/analysis projects and support the coordination of data analysis systems and projects both within and outside the Council.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake a satisfactory disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the Council.

Any disabled applicant meeting the essential criteria set out in the person profile for a job will be guaranteed an interview.

Apply via the ‘Apply Online’ link below. CVs will only be accepted in addition to a completed application form. You can also contact the recruitment line on 0870 700 3208 (8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays) or e-mail

Closing date: 5pm, Wednesday 15 July 2009. We reserve the right to close this post early.
