Parks, Greenspace and Bereavement Services

Are you passionate about parks and open spaces? Could you contribute to Trafford Parks, Cemeteries and Greenspace, making them a Cleaner and Greener place to Live, Learn, Work and Relax? We’re looking for three high-motivated and enthusiastic apprentices who want to work within Local Government with a keen focus on delivering improvement to local neighbourhoods and the people of the Borough.
You will work alongside experienced staff, be guided by a mentor, whilst learning new skills and completing an NVQ 2 in Horticulture through Myerscough College.
This is a tough job, working outside in all weather conditions and undertaking tasks such as gardening, operating machinery, grave digging and working with the Community. We will promise to provide you the support you need to complete your apprenticeship and development.
To be considered you need to live in Trafford Borough, and be prepared to undertake assessment in English and Maths, but don’t worry if its not up to scratch we will give you the additional support if you are successful or at the selection stage.
Appointment to a permanent post will be on successful completion of the three years apprenticeship programme.
