There is a new Apprentice Scheme in Walsall and we are looking for Apprentices for our second intake in January 2012.
The Adult Social Care Apprentice Scheme will give you the opportunity to:-
Gain direct experience of working with Vulnerable Adults who may be in need of care or support due to their Age or Disability in various settings within Adult Social Care.
Access one day per week, off the job training at Walsall Adult and Community College to complete your Apprenticeship which will include functional skills in literacy and numeracy, a technical certificate and a competency based award. You will also be expected to undertake training deemed suitable to this post.
Earn a wage whilst experiencing a true sense of Job satisfaction that you are making a positive difference to those in need.
You will be employed by Walsall Social Care and Inclusion Directorate which will enable you to develop valuable skills, knowledge and understanding of the roles you will undertake.
You will need to reach a certain level of Numeracy and Literacy; reaching one area at Entry Level 3 and one area at Level 1 is a minimum requirement.
You will be committed to working a contracted 30 hours per week on a two year fixed term basis. You will need to work on a flexible basis whilst based at your work placements.
If you have an NVQ level 4 or degree this opportunity will not be open to you.
The scheme is not exclusive to those who reside within the Walsall Borough (applications from those living in the Walsall area are welcomed). Remember that Apprenticeships are not just for young people and we welcome applications from motivated individuals from all ages16 years upwards.
