This exciting new post combines the high profile hate crime and anti–social behaviour agendas

These issues are high on everyone’s agenda and are a key priority within the London Borough of Havering. We are looking to recruit an officer to lead on the delivery of our Anti-Social-Behaviour and Hate Crime Strategies.

Acting as the Council’s key advisor on these issues, you will lead on the co-ordination of partnership activity to reduce anti-social-behaviour and hate crime in the Borough.

You must have proven experience of managing and resolving anti-social-behaviour within a local authority or similar environment, proven experience of successfully developing and implementing community safety projects, knowledge of crime and disorder, anti-social-behaviour and hate crime legislation. You will also have the ability to work independently using your own initiative, prioritise work to meet tight deadlines, and have experience of managing staff.

Any disabled applicants meeting the essential criteria set out in the person profile for a job will be guaranteed an interview.

To apply or find out more go to www.havering.gov.uk/jobs and apply on-line. CVs will only be accepted in addition to a completed application form. For help and advice with the on-line process you can contact the technical support team at JGP on 0845 868 431.

Closing date for receipt of applications is on Thursday 1st April 2010. We reserve the right to close this post early.
