Location Riverside Depot, Doe Lea, Chesterfield

The above vacancy now exists within the Community and Street Services Department, based in the garage office at Riverside Depot, Doe Lea. The successful applicant will ensure that the clerical and admin requirements of the Transport Section are efficiently and effectively organised and supported. To be shortlisted for interview candidates must possess the following:-

• Good standard of literacy and numeracy in order to undertake daily duties including data input and analysis, maintain, manipulate and process records in a database, arrange and take notes of meetings, maintaining confidential records, prepare monitoring reports, process payments i.e. purchase orders, invoices and sundry debtor accounts.
• Demonstrable experience of using Microsoft packages effectively, e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook in order to undertake accurate data input and the preparation of reports.
• Recent proven practical office experience showing competency in working within a transport office, maintenance of computerised and manual records, liaison with colleagues/external clients, filing, scanning, photocopying, answering telephone queries.
• Ability to work both within a team environment and on own initiative to competing deadlines displaying tact, discretion, confidentiality, organisational and time management skills together with a flexible and adaptable attitude to work.
• Good verbal/written communication skills in order to deal with colleagues, Elected Members and external organisations to respond to straightforward queries.
• Methodical nature to undertake accurate data input routines.
• Demonstrable customer service skills.
